Enlist Now

A newer set of tiled pasters on the Coolidge wall has appeared recently. We are still not sure who this artist is but they keep getting up with that same lo-res skull image, well all of their artwork has been pixelated and lo-res. It would be kinda cool if the artist used low-fi images in contrast to other artists that use sharp vector and stenciled images, wouldn't it? That would be a very interesting use of images and idea, but then again. It might just be a bunch of of crappy looking artwork from a crappy printer, who knows?!

Black Skull

We found this older artist unknown piece downtown off Industrial, cooking in the Cody's Smoking Barbecue parking lot. An inverted image of a vector skull with a starry nighttime sky inside. Looks like a few people have been picking at it and it has a few tags around it, but other than that it looks like its been riding for awhile in the sun. Wonder how long it will last, sometimes pieces in this city can ride for months and months. Only time will tell!

Red, White and Black

An unknown artist has installed a rather patriotic looking piece off Casino Drive heading onto Charleston. A silver eagle which looks to be an old flagpole topper, with broken wings and black paint dripping down. Proudly seated atop a red and blue wooden platform, then affixed to the concrete median. With this Eagle facing The Strip and its back to old Downtown, what is the message here? Are we trying to read into something more, cuz it wouldn't be the first time. But more often than not, the misunderstanding of an art piece is usually more interesting than fact. Well in our experience anyway.

Carefree Summer

Street Art, Graffiti, Fashion, Photography. Los Angeles artist Punk Me Tender does it all! Appearing in our eyes with his absolutely huge bright pink rollers pieces on top of striking black and white images, with super tight text and other times a splatterfest! Only to branch way beyond those to create something as delicate as these new pieces currently going up. Bringing new life to a dress that might have been long forgotten, using a body shape affixed to the wall and a beautiful stencil that seems full of energy. She seems so carefree with one tiny hand holding onto the astronaut's cord, wearing her pink dress on a Summer day. Just a wonderful piece!

Sophia Is NOT Amused

Local Vegas clothing brand Ndigenous Visionaries gets up with a few other artists on Stewart and 7th. We are normally not a fan of capping artists, but that look on Sofia Loren's face ala the famous Jane Mansfield photo. It just makes it this seem like a planned collab, with her looking over at Ndigenous covering another There She Is piece. Well, it is pretty hilarious! We dig it when two disconnected artists collab without knowing it in the streets. Joining them on the other side a generic You Killed Me First piece, no seriously! A street art takeover of the old blue stripe brand seen on 80's generic products.

Are Friends Electric?

Back behind the Downtown Spaces we found a wide selection of artists and art on the back utility boxes. A group ranging from Recycled Propaganda, Avantarded, There She Is, You Killed Me First, 3RDi, 3 Bad Sheep and some evil ass looking Grinch stencil that is awesome! Plus a bunch of others that are great but we just don't know who they are! So sorry, no credit or props for you this time! Cool to catch these different artists with different styles and techniques in this little private street art show.

Trashy Art

Hanging out behind the Downtown Spaces complex we found a wealth of artwork from multiple artists. But our favorite thing we saw had to be this dumpster covered in tags and pieces but with a discarded makeshift sign stuffed inside. Not sure who or what this was for but it does have a date on it, and it used to be a door! Well we thought it was pretty amusing and seemed like a good photo op and post at the time, maybe the heat got to us......

High Profile

Deep Cover/Gloves has been hitting the Las Vegas streets hard lately, everywhere you go you'll see their character we've dubbed "Darth Duck" and yes we know, horrible name! But dammit, we're not sure what that little guy is! We are just happy to see his face up all over town, and in high profile spots too! Kudos for quality AND quantity, you barely see the two used together in the streets in our opinion. So let's keep it up and step it up to match the level set for us by Deep Cover! Lets go!

Odd Couple

We found this couple stuck outside the parking structure on 7th, and they make quite the pair. Both stickers are helping each artist do the same job, but they are completely different. The black and white "smoking monkey" sticker looks to be a professionally done, meanwhile "Mr. Orange Face" is hand drawn by the artist on a postal slap. Not really saying either is better than the other, just saying. Stickers kind of rule this town quantitywise, always a huge selection of artists, colors and styles to be seen on the streets, signs, etc...

The Red Lady

This image at first glace sprang many thoughts, ideas and questions. But mostly, who was this lady? Could this be the face of the Virgin Mary, or was this the classically anguished beauty of oil paintings from long ago? This stenciled sticker high atop a street light at Charleston and 3rd definitely gives off a religious vibe. Those concerned sad eyes looking solemnly down at the street artists roaming the streets. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.  ....ya know, just in case!

Saving Grace

Ok well its about time to be honest about this location! It's looking pretty bad lately! Somehow amongst the other artists, this building has turned into the beginners school for street art and graffiti. More and more bad toy tags and disconnected phrases show up on this wall everyday, we don't know how or why local artists are letting this continue! Much less the buffman, we can't believe we are actually hoping the buffman pays this spot a visit! The only saving grace is the brightly colored piece of wood left there and it looks like they spent more time on that than these tags.

Motel Vacancy

Down the street from those broken concrete cans from our last post, we find another Gloves/Deep Cover piece pasted outside the Town Lodge Motel. Gloves/Deep Cover has been hitting the streets solidly for a few long months now, we've spotted some older pieces and stickers here and there in the past. But it is good to see them hitting new spots with new pieces. We're still not entirely sure what his character is in their pieces, but we usually call him "Darth Duck", yeah not the best name we've come up with. But hey, ya can't win or guess them all....

Smashed Cans

We aren't even sure where to begin with this post... Looks like some complete asshole thought it would be funny to try to push over one of the concrete spraycans next to the Maser Motel. Only for it to end up shattering when it fell over, they looked to be recently buffed as well (for all that's worth!). We spotted a new Gloves/Deep Cover piece on the broken pieces laying around the site, wonder if someone is hating on Deep Cover? Great! Now we sound like conspiracy theorists!! Well anyway, props to Gloves for the spot and a big fuck you to whomever took it out!
